The Fifteenth Question: A Procrastinator's Worst Nightmare
We're all avoiding something. So what are you putting off, and why?
Sometimes I write these prompts right after I send you the Friday download.
Sometimes I do it first thing Sunday morning.
Sometimes I read the whole New York Times, drink my coffee, walk the dog, and then reluctantly sit down to write.
This week’s entry is the third kind. And so…
What am I putting off right now?
What’s standing in the way of you getting this done?
Are these forces internal or external?
What would life look like if you didn’t ever do this?
What would life look like if you accomplished/completed this thing RIGHT NOW?
What is your procrastination/avoidance trying to tell you?
Something for the Week
For my 30th birthday, my parents got me floor seats to see Janet Jackson at Madison Square Garden. I was stoked. Janet is an artist I’ve always wanted to see live but had never but in the effort to track down. Finally, I’d have the chance to watch her groove and breathe the same air.
The concert was set for August 2020.
You can guess what happened there.
But in December she announced a new tour with dates for the LA-area set for June. Sitting in the airport in Cancun, I nabbed tickets for a friend and I, and after some date switching, we caught her show last night at the Hollywood Bowl.
Good things come to those who wait, as not only did we get a ~2 hour show, we also had Ludacris open for her, a man whose bars unlocked some core memories in my millennial brain.
So, why Janet? You should watch her documentary to find out.
It’s available on Hulu, and with just four episodes, you can watch it all before I hit you up again on Friday.
