The Sixtieth Question: Significant Relationships
How relationships have shaped and impacted our lives.
Last week we considered place, this week we look at people.
The Sixtieth Question
What are your five most important and meaningful relationships?
Have you told these individuals how important/meaningful they are to you?
What makes these relationships so significant? Was that constructed intentionally, or did it emerge organically?
Are there any similarities and/or overlap in anything about these relationships - how you met these people, traits shared, what you get from them?
Do you give as much as you get from these relationships?
Is there a meaningful relationship that has stood longer than the rest?
Is there a meaningful relationship that you thought would be on this list but is not represented? Why didn’t it make the cut?
What defines a meaningful relationship?
This Week’s Jam: “Anotherloverholenyohead”
I’ll give you a second as you try to process this song name.
This song was a bit of a flop for Prince. Coming from Parade, an album which far outshined the associated film (Under the Cherry Moon), “Anotherloverholenyohead” was far outshined by the album’s other singles, “Kiss” (#1), and “Mountains” (#23). “Anotherloverholenyohead” wouldn’t even crack the top 50 in the US. But it’s worth a revisit. The slapping bass line propels this song forward in a way that makes it one of the strongest songs on the album. Even at his least commercially successful, Prince was always providing quality.
