The Twenty-Fifth Question: The Flow of Energy
Thinking about where draw our energy from, and where we lose it to.
Three weeks in a row without a reflection email? Couldn’t be me…
But, it me.
Life has gotten in the way lately, especially this past week, when I spent four days in Charlotte with A Call to Men. After a plethora of working sessions and discussion groups, I simply had no battery left in me to stare at a screen or process big thoughts. All I had space for was rest.
I’m not kidding. I spent the entire flight home just looking at the back of the seat in front of me (we call that raw doggin’ a flight), dozing off, and occasionally jotting down thoughts and reflections in my journal.
Friday morning came and I intended to sit at this laptop and draft my journal responses into a coherent email for y’all, but I just couldn’t get there.
So I honored that.
And instead, here I am, sending you prompt #25 on Sunday.
Make a list of 20 things that fill your energy, and 20 things that drain your energy.
And once you have that list, try to reflect on the contents:
When was the last time you encountered or enjoyed each of these things?
How do you feel after having an energy-filling experience? Does it mimic a feeling you experience elsewhere in life?
What are you doing that allows these sources or sinks into your life?
How could you eliminate your energy drains?
Happy writing!
