The Twenty-Sixth Question: My Own Worst Enemy
Getting uncomfortable by unearthing some of the messy truths about the way we treat ourselves.
I’m a day late and, as far as today goes, a few hours short, so I’m going to hop right into Question #26 and then bolt.
In what ways am I mean to myself?
Let me be clear about something: the purpose of this question is not to beat yourself up for your self-talk or self-image. The purpose of this question is to help you identify the ways you are holding yourself back. The stories we tell ourselves and beliefs we hold become reality, so it’s critical we identify exactly what those are. Only by doing that can we change them.
For exploration:
What is the origin of this belief or behavior?
In what ways does this belief/behavior hold you back?
How does holding this belief actually empower you (negatively)? What does it enable you to do or avoid?
What steps can you take to break this belief or behavior?
See you Friday!
