The Seventy-Fifth Question: Fixing My Mistake
Our last prompt needed a pre-requisite. Making amends this week.
Let me start with this: I’m sorry.
Not for missing last week. It happens, and I’m still building back a routine.
But for Question #73. As I worked on it, I realized I asked you the wrong question first.
Our last question asked about the how of building community. The places you put yourself, the actions you take, the things you look for. But in asking how you build something, I overlooked the foundational question: what are you building?
So this week I’m just going to share Question #74, and next week I’ll share my thoughts in answering both of them.
Question #75
What does community mean to you? What does community look like for you?
What values or qualities do you think are essential in a strong community?
Should community validate you or challenge you? Or both?
What role do you play in the communities you are a part of? Does it vary between communities?
Have you had to remove yourself from communities before? Why, and how, did you do it?
Can you think of a time when you created or contributed to a sense of community? What did it look like?
Are there specific rituals, traditions, or practices that you think help build community?
Describe and define your ideal community.
